The University of Washington’s Climate Impacts Group (https://cig.uw.edu/) supports the development of climate resilience by advancing understanding and awareness of climate risks, and working closely with public and private entities to apply this information as they act to shape society’s future. In 2015, the Group published Climate Change in the Puget Sound, which provides climate data for regional decision makers.
Unprecedented warm conditions are projected to occur in both summer and winter seasons. Both extreme wet years and extreme dry years are likely to become more frequent. Preparing for the impacts of this increase weather variability is critically important.
